Ireland is a new country for tourism 




The Irish political system


Ireland is a parliamentary, representative democratic republic and a member state of the European Union



 The Head of the Government is the Taoiseach. There are 15 Government Departments.  The Taoiseach and the Ministers collectively form the Government under the Irish constitution, and they hold executive power.


  • The Oireachtas. The Parliament is called the Oireachtas. There are two Houses of Parliament: House of Representative and Senate.

  • President. The President of Ireland serves as head of state and is directly elected by the people. The current President, elected in 2011, is Michael D Higgins.  Presidents are elected for seven years, and can serve no more than two terms. The President has a largely ceremonial role.

  • Local Government. There are 114 local authorities in Ireland.  They provide a wide range of services, including housing, transport, water supply, waste management, education, health and welfare.

Mariah Carey (1970-..) Mariah Carey is a global superstar on the singing stage with hits that include ‘Hero’ and festive favorite ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’. Carey’s connection to Ireland is through her mother, Patricia Hickey, whose ancestors hailed from the old country 

  •  Tom Cruise (1962-...) Tom Cruise is one of Hollywood’s leading action stars . Cruise has made notable appearances in films such as ‘Jerry Maguire’ and ‘Born on the Fourth of July’ and has always commented on his proud Irish roots.In the past number of years, Cruise traveled to Ireland traced his heritage back to Dublin, where he was givena  Certificate of Irishness, an official recognition by the Irish Government.


  • Christina Aguilera (1989-..) Christina Aguilera is a powerhouse popstar and one of the biggest names in music. Her hits include ‘Genie in a Bottle’, ‘Dirrty’ and ‘Beautiful’.  Aguilera grew up in Irish American communities across New York and Pennsylvania, with her Irish lineage coming from her mother's side, Shelly Kearns, who has spoken in the past about her daughter’s proud Irish heritage.





    Emily Ratajkowski (1991-...) Emily Ratajkowski is an American A-list model who shot to fame after appearing in the music video for the 2013 hit song ‘Blurred Lines’ by Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams. Ratajkowski’s father is an artist of Polish and Irish descent who moved to the picturesque surroundings of Bantry in County Cork over 20 years ago  Both her grandmothers are from Ireland and she has spent every summer in Bantry.

 Did you know that Ireland is an island ,which lies on the European continental shelf, part of the Eurasian Plate? The island lies in the Atlantic Ocean in a 80 km distance from Great Britain separated from it by the Irish Sea and the St. George's Channel. You havent't heard this before?My project is going to help you to know more about the georaphy of Ireland.


 Ireland is the third largest island in Europe, almost the same size as Hungary. Ireland is divided into the Republic of Ireland, with its capital Dublin.Ireland's central lowlands of flat rolling plains are dissected by bogs, lakes and rivers, and surrounded by hills and low mountains.

 Ireland is a perfect place for spending your vacation holidays, because there are many cultural celebrations, which are very exciting for tourists. I has compiled a list of 5 jollifications in Ireland
  • St. Patrick's DaySt. Patrick's Day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, and is arguably the most popular holiday in Ireland among both locals and touristsThis hliday is celebrated on 17 of MarchThousands of people decorated in green and shamrocks crowd the main streets of the Dublin city center to watch the St. Patrick’s Day parad.









  • Bloomsday Festial. Every year Dublin holds a Bloomsday Festival- a celebration of the writings of James Joyce. Joyce is one of Irelands most celebrated authors. All over the city scenes from his novel Ulysses are acted out. Many people dress up like Joyce or the characters in his books.

  • Samhain festival. Also known as Hallowe’en, this is a traditional festival in Dublin that marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the "darker half" of the year. Both children and adults wear costumes to attend the parade, parties and celebrations

  • The Liffey Swim. The Liffey Swim, currently titled the Jones Engineering Dublin City Liffey Swim, is an annual race in Dublin's main river, the Liffey, and is one of Ireland's most famous traditional sporting events. Over 300 male and female swimmers a year swim the race.

  • May Day. May Day in Ireland is celebrated on the Monday on or nearest to 1 May and is also known as Labour Day. Traditionally in the Celtic religions, May Day is the spring festival and commemorates fertility and the blossoming of flowers and fruit.

  There have been many famous Irish people throughout history, and many more Irish living today who are admired. But who is the best known Irish person of all time? Today we are going to talk about top-5 the most popular Irish people.

  • Oscar Wild (1854 – 1900) – Irish writer and poet. Born in Dublin, Wilde studied at Oxford University and became a leading wit and literary figure of London Society. He wrote satirical plays, such as ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ and ‘The Picture of Dorian Grey‘. Oscar Wild is also famous for his quotes 

  • Jonathan Swift (1667-1745) Anglo-Irish writer, born in Dublin. Swift was a prominent satirist, essayist and author. Notable works include Gulliver’s Travels. He was also Dean of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin.

  • Hozier (1990-....) Andrew Hozier-Byrne, better known as Hozier, is an Irish singer and songwriter who is best known for his single ‘Take Me to Church. His style of music is not only limited to blues but is also heavily influenced by the rock and R&B genres. 


  • Niall Horan (1993-....) Niall Horan is an Irish singer and guitarist, best known for being a member of the boy band ‘One Direction’. He was quite fond of music since a young age and often played the guitar. 

 

  • Conor McGregor (1988-....) Conor McGregor is an Irish professional mixed martial artist who is currently signed with the ‘Ultimate Fighting Championship’ (UFC). He is the former ‘UFC’ lightweight and featherweight champion
